![]() 14But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you 12And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. 9And all the people saw him walking and praising God: 10And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.8And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.Īnd He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you." The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’” Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, 'Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up but while I am coming, another steps down before me.' Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
